It was overcast and a little chilly but 41 enthusiastic ski racers found excellent conditions for the Grand Mesa Classic 10K. It was a day for the younger set as 8 of the top 10 places went to those under 25 including a great group down from Eagle Valley. Jonah Barber and Eva McDonough were the fastest male and female each coming in with a small gap ahead of the pushers. Happy birthday, Dave Batten, who proved adding another year doesn’t stop you from having fun competing, even at 75. Everyone got a chance to win one of the great door prizes from Chill Switch Wines, Stoney Mesa Winery, Ela Family Farms and Lori Anderson.
