It was a day of fabulous sunshine, warm temps and a super fun course for the Feb Fifteen 15K. This was Race #4 in the 5-race Empowered Energy Systems Ski Race Series. It was great to see Egor Gavrilov back on Grand Mesa as he handily took the win. Likewise, his wife Anna who I believe was the first classic skier to finish in this freestyle race. Meghan Kent was up to her old tricks leading the field of women racers. She solidified her position as the leading woman in the Series standings. Kudos go to Kristina Hindert, visiting from Michigan, who took extra time on the course to savor our amazing Grand Mesa scenery and trail conditions. There were several comments that the grooming was some of the best ever. That’s thanks to Tigran Bailey, our crackerjack head groomer. More thanks go to our hard working volunteers Bob, Sherrion, Mari, Joely, Danielle and Dave plus our generous door prize donors:
