We have our First Ski winners!!
Joyce Tanihara, Art Trevena and their dog, Joey, are the winners of this year’s First Ski Contest. Joyce reports that there was 3-4″ of snow at County Line and they had a nice ski around the Dog Loop. The coverage was pretty good at just before 10am this morning, and their skis were gliding, not grinding. “It was a beautiful day,” she says.
Art adds, “We really weren’t trying to win that “XC first ski” contest! We just wanted to get at least one ski day in October and were afraid that last night’s snow might disappear soon. I hit a few small rocks with my old “BC rock skis”, but nothing serious. We used glide wax on skis with fish scales, which worked well this morning.”
They will be receive some GMNC swag of their choice. No one correctly chose the date of the first ski.
