We’re almost there, please help!

We’re thrilled to announce that the U.S. Forest Service has released a decision memo granting official permission for GMNC to construct the Skyway Station. This document allows us to proceed with the Mesa County building code and permitting process as we work with Chamberlin Architects and Cristee Meade Building Company to finalize facility design and construction details. 

We remain on track to break ground in early summer (once the ground is ready and final permitting is complete). We’ve raised $1.3 million, enough to construct the main building — the community space, operations basement, snowmobile storage area and the off-grid energy system. 

We just secured a $100,000 grant from the Goodwin Foundation, leaving us with only $200,000 left to raise in order to cover the remaining cost of the snowcat garage. 

An anonymous donor has given $25,000, will you help us match it? With that gift, we have just $175,000 left to raise by July 1.

We intend to complete the entire project by the end of the 25/26 ski season. If we don’t raise the remaining funds by July 1st, we will have to delay completion of the snowcat garage. We’re so close!

Nearly 200 individuals, families, businesses and grantors have donated to this project, and we are grateful for this groundswell of support. Won’t you join us? Please consider making a gift to help complete this project on budget and on schedule. 

Giving to this project is an opportunity to support GMNC while also lowering your tax burden. The Skyway Station campaign has Enterprise Zone status, which means that if you give $250 or more, you’re eligible to receive a Colorado tax credit worth 25 percent of your donation. You have five years to use the credit.

Skyway Station will protect our community and grooming equipment, helping to sustain our organization.
